Link a domain without moving your website

Your domain can remain with your current registrar and your website can remain with your existing hosting provider. For Xonexa, you only adjust the DNS records for email and domain verification.

Mailbox or alias: what's the difference?

A mailbox has its own login, storage space and counts as a mailbox space in the subscription. An alias is an additional address that forwards email to an existing mailbox and does not have its own login.

Only convert mail when everything is ready

First create all necessary mailboxes and aliases. Then copy the DNS values ​​shown by Xonexa exactly and only change the MX records when the preparation is complete. Consider DNS propagation and check key legacy senders before replacing SPF.

This is how you use your own domain name with Xonexa

Your website does not have to move. You only change the DNS records that are necessary to send e-mail securely via Xonexa.

    Create your organization

    Open Xonexa Account, create an organization and choose the number of mailbox places. Each independent mailbox with its own login counts as one place; Aliases are assigned to an existing mailbox.

    Add your domain and verify it

    Add your domain name under Domains. Xonexa provides a unique TXT code that you use to prove to your DNS provider that the domain is yours.

    Create mailboxes and aliases

    For example, create name@yourcompany.nl as a mailbox with your own login. Addresses such as info@ or invoices@ can be forwarded to an existing mailbox as an alias.

    Set up the email DNS

    Copy exactly the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records shown by Xonexa. First create all mailboxes and only change the MX records when everything is ready.

    Check and use your account

    Have Xonexa check the DNS records. You can then log in via webmail or connect suitable email programs via IMAP and SMTP.
